Eligibility Criteria

- Must hold a valid 501(c)(3) non-profit status with the IRS.
- Community-led groups may apply via a registered fiscal sponsor.

The journey begins with a friendly initial outreach. Simply complete our brief inquiry form with your community organization details and project focus. We review all submissions for mission alignment within DeKalb County and respond within seven business days.
Our professional review committee evaluates your application through a compassionate lens. During this phase, we may schedule a brief site visit or virtual meeting to better understand your team and the heartening work you do for our neighbors.

Formal Proposal Submission
Selected organizations are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal. This includes a detailed project budget, specific goals for reducing local poverty or homelessness, and a plan for long-term sustainability after the initial funding period ends.

Final Decision & Funding
Once the board reaches a consensus, you will receive a formal notification. Approved projects receive funding alongside ongoing support and resources from Friends of Fortify to ensure the maximum impact on our collective humanitarian goals.
